Drink (general) : A drink or beverage is a liquid intended for consumption. We find drinks cold ou hot, sparkling, alcoholic ou non alcoholic.
The term is also used in the more restricted sense of alcoholic drink, as in the expressions "taken by drink" or "under the effect of the drink" (See Slang drink).
The most natural is thewater, the only one that the with animals (with the breastmilk at the mammals) and the only one that effectively rehydrates. Water is also the essential component of most other drinks.
- The first drink that people drink Human being (as well as all mammals) is the breastmilk (sometimes replaced by cow milk), during breastfeeding and until weaning.
- Thewater is an original drink mineral.
- The Milk and milk drinks, are of animal origin, as well asmead, made from miel. In some cultures, the blood animals (pure, mixed with Milk or other beverages) is also used as a beverage.
- All other drinks are original vegetable. They are made from fruits, seeds, leaves, thebark, sap, various species of plants.

Water, the first drink, is a liquid which does not provide any nutrients, and has no content énergétique. However, it may contain mineral salts. Other drinks can also bring calories in the form of sucre, ofalcohol, protein, fat.
Note: all food liquids are considered drinks, some are foodstuffs, such as oils and vinaigre, which are used in Food, broths, soupes et soups...
Some drinks, very rich such as chocolate, are on the border between drink and food. Others are at the limit of the drug, especially among infusions. Some plants that are used for to prepare are classified among the plants medicinal.
Drinks are generally drunk in glasses, sometimes in bowls, or in all kinds of containers also serving for their packaging: bottles, cans, gourds, flasks...
They take either backgammon during meal, of which they can constitute the essential element (like the coffee ou coffee with milk breakfast or in the dinner as in certain regions of eastern France or in Switzerland), either before (appetizers) or after (digestive) the meal, or between meals (drinks refreshing, coffee, tea, uplifting, justifying special moments of break, such as the coffee break, the to taste, the British tea break.
Some drinks are consumed hot, others coldOr fresh or " struck ».
