Rich: adj. (word coming from the Frankish °riki “powerful”).
In its first meaning, the adjective “rich” qualifies someone who has fortune, owns goods, and especially money in abundance.
In cooking, "rich" means something that contains many elements, or important elements in abundance.
A rich food (nourishing, nutritious).
Food that is too rich (greasy).
A food rich in vitamins.
Rich in (and substitute).
A mine-rich basement...
