Water pepper knotweed: Water pepper knotweed, currently called Persicaria hydropiper (L.) Opiz, is a herbaceous plant of the Polygonaceae family which grows in humid areas, possibly semi-submerged in streams and ditches.
Synonymy: Polygonum hydropiper L.
Its name comes from the strongly peppery taste of the young leaves. It is used in Bangladesh as an aromatic and medicinal plant.
