Its name comes from the Greek melissophullon which means "bee leaf".
It is also called "lemon balm" or simply "lemongrass", not to be confused with lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) used in Asian cuisine.
Distribution: lemon balm is an aromatic plant native to the eastern Mediterranean basin.
