Chou: "Chou" is an ambiguous vernacular name designating in French certain leafy plants of the Brassicaceae family. They are edible vegetables. Most cabbages have super-hydrophobic leaves (*) which give them self-cleaning abilities.
Cabbages are mainly classified in the genus Brassica. The most famous species is the common cabbage and its many cultivated varieties.
