Remora (fish): Remora is a genus of fish from the Echeneidae family, commonly called remora. These sucker fish are famous for their phoretic association (*) with sharks and other large marine animals. They are also called pilot fish.
Please note: The vernacular name remora (with acute accent) corresponds to the family Echeneidae, half of the species of which belong to the genus Remora (capital letter, but no accent).
