Kounafa (oriental cuisine): Kounafa (or konafa) is an oriental pastry, made of superimposed layers of long threads of dough browned (kadaïf) in butter or sesame oil, alternated with almonds and hazelnuts - or other dried fruits - pounded with sugar; the cake is drizzled after baking with a thick syrup of lemon and rose water.
