Royal coconut: The royal coconut (Botanical name: Cocos nucifera) is a variety of coconut, native to Sri Lanka where it is known as Thæmbili (in Sinhalese තැඹිලි). Less sugar than regular coconuts, there are several sub-varieties of the royal coconut, the most common being the "red dwarf" (kaha thæmbili, commonly known as gon thæmbili). The other variety is 'ran thæmbili', a smaller variety containing around forty walnuts.
