Besan: nm Besan (or besaan) is a flour made with chickpeas. Besan flour is mainly used in Middle Eastern and Asian countries (see Chickpea flour).
It is used in porridge, soups, bread, pancakes as well as in many pastries.
In India, besan is used to make pakoras (vegetable fritters), Bikaneri bhujia or bhajis (fried onions).
