Chaya: The chaya plant is native to Mexico (Euphorbiaceae family - Botanical name: Cnidoscolus aconitifolius). It has been used for a long time by the Mayas of the Yucatàn peninsula. The term "chaya" comes from "chay", the Mayan name given to this plant. The chaya is also present in parts of Honduras and Guatemala.
