Catalogna: Catalogna is a giant chicory (family Compositae) that grows and is widely consumed in Italy. It looks like a dandelion or dandelion, but bigger. It can reach 50 cm in length. The heart is eaten in a salad, the outer stems and leaves as a vegetable. It has a rather bitter taste and can be prepared like endive, raw in a salad or cooked in a gratin or in risotto.
