Carragheen: Carrageenan is a red or yellow algae (Botanical name: Chondrus crispus). Its name comes from an Irish place, near Waterford. It grows along the coast of the North Atlantic and contains a mucilage, used in therapy and in the food industry (carrageenan). The caaragheen is also called Irish moss or, white lichen.
