Balisier: nm The balisier is a perennial plant (Cannaceae family - Botanical name: Heliconia caribaea), growing in tropical regions, whose underground stem, thick and fleshy, is eaten as a vegetable.
Some species provide a food starch, mainly used in Australia, where it is called "Queensland arrowroot".
