Akpi: The akpi is a C from a tropical forest fruit tree, the djansang, (Botanical name: taxon Ricinodendron heudoletii or Ricinodendron africanum (Bail) Pierre ex Pax) (Euphorbiaceae family).
Akpi is used as a flavor enhancer in the African cuisine of forest peoples such as the cuisine of Côte d'Ivoire. In this same kitchen there is the akpi sauce cooked by the Dida people (*).
(*) The Didas are a population of West Africa living in the south...
