The verb “to adore” has several meanings:
1. To love with a passionate love or affection (to idolize).
2. To render worship (theology: a worship of latria) to (God, a divinity, a divine symbol).
Phrase: To burn what one adored: not to be constant in one's admiration.
Adoring the golden calf (*): worshiping money.
