Pacific halibut (fish): The Pacific halibut is a saltwater fish (Scientific name: Hippoglossus stenolepis), which is found from California to Alaska and from Siberia to the Sea of Japan.
It is a commercially important fish species. It is very close to the Atlantic halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus), which is generally a little larger.
