Brouet: Brouet is a medieval stew made from white meat (or fish flesh) marinated in red wine, spices and aromatics. In the Middle Ages, the word “brouet” also designated a whole series of broths, dishes or sauces.
In its current sense it is rather a bad stew or a coarse and light soup.
