Mondeuse: The Mondeuxe grape variety is a black grape variety from Savoy (before the phylloxera crisis, it was the most important grape variety in Savoy), also used in Bugey. This late variety gives, in good years, a high quality wine for laying down, full-bodied and full of character.
The vineyards of Savoie are familiarly home to Mondeuse plants. This grape variety is designated by various other names such as mandouse, salagnaire or prossaigne.
