Douro (Portuguese wine): Douro is a Portuguese designation of origin (DOC) whose wines are produced in the wine-growing region of the Douro Valley, which covers the sub-regions of Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Haut Douro, in north of the country, on both sides of the banks of the Douro.
Geography: This terroir is the same as that which produces Port wines. The area covers the thirteen concelhos: Mesão Frio, Peso da Régua, Santa Marta de Penaguião, Vila Real, Alijó, Sabrosa, Carrazeda de Ansiães, ...
