- A liqueur made from green anise and various other plants, notably star anise, and whose alcohol content varies from 20 to 25° alcohol.
It is obtained by mixing alcoholate, sugar water and green anise seeds. In France, we especially know the anisette de Bordeaux. Returning from the West Indies, a traveler would have entrusted the recipe to a Bordelaise named Marie Brizard (See Marie Brizard).
