To strip: v.tr. “Leafing” means removing the leaves from a lettuce, an artichoke, a flower, a fruit (the vine when the grapes are almost ripe), etc.
Cut the flesh of a cooked fish (mainly skate, cod and haddock) into “sheets” following the layers that make it up; this operation removes all the bones.
