The adjective prolific has several meanings:
1. Aged meaning: Who has, gives the faculty to engender.
2. Modern meaning: Rapidly multiplying (fruitful).
More, less prolific species.
Rabbits are prolific.
3. Who produces a lot. A prolific novelist.
Opposite of prolific: sterile....
