Bord: nm (word coming from bord de la nave “side of the ship”).
The word "board" has many meanings:
I) On a ship:
1. Upper extremity of each side of a ship's planks (port side: the left side, starboard: the right side).
High ship, high on the water.
To throw (something, someone) overboard, into the sea.
Ships side to side, side to side.
2. Each side of the ship, considered in relation to the wind.
Windward edge, leeward edge. Tack.
