Cold chain: The expression "cold chain" was used from 1908, in French, by the French engineer Albert Barrier (1861-1944) and, in English, by the Canadian entrepreneur, John A. Ruddick ( cold storage chain).
The term cold chain or refrigerated chain refers to all the logistical and domestic operations (transport, handling, storage) aimed at maintaining food or pharmaceutical products at a given temperature in order to preserve their safety and quality.
