Chop: v.tr. “Chopping” means reducing a food into very small fragments, using a knife or a chopper, to obtain a more or less fine preparation (parsley, shallot, etc.), even pasty ( for fillings, mousses, etc.), or to make a decoration (hard-boiled egg yolks and whites, jelly).
