Barbe-de-capucin: The beard-de-capucin or capucin beard is a vernacular name given in French to very distinct plants of the Asteraceae family.
"Capuchin beard" is also the trade name given to a specific kind of salad, obtained by forcing the variety of wild chicory, a variety of endive, whose leaves are eaten in salads.
