Doubeurre: Doubeurre is a runner variety of butternut squash (family Cucurbitaceae - Botanical name: Cucurbita moschata).
The French name evokes the taste of this squash, in particular the velvety texture that its texture allows to obtain in cooking. The English name “butternut” is also used.
The fruits are harvested from September to October (in the southern half of France).
