Laxative: nm and adj. “Laxative” generally designates anything that purgates slightly, that is to say that accelerates intestinal transit and the evacuation of stools with the help of a purgative (plant, medicine, substance). The word "laxative" comes from the Low Latin laxativus, from the classical Latin laxare which means to release.
A laxative helps treat constipation. It acts without irritating the intestine.
Some common laxatives: Prune, aloe, bryony, kiwi, flax, grape, bran, plum, dandelion...
