Pastel de Camiguín (Filipino cuisine): Pastel de Camiguín, or simply pastel, is a Filipino soft bun filled with yema (custard cream) originating from the province of Camiguin. The name is derived from the Spanish pastel ("cake"). Pastel is an ancestral recipe originally devised by Eleanor Jose Popera and her family members in Camiguin.
It began to sell it commercially from 1990. It is mainly produced on special occasions and gatherings.
