Carrettiera alla (Italian cuisine): Pasta alla carrettiera (literally carters' pasta) is a typical recipe from eastern Sicily (Messina) and the Valley of the plane trees.
These are noodles (or spaghetti) drizzled with olive oil, raw garlic, pepper and pecorino cheese. In the version of the perched villages located near the Valle des platani, the recipe calls for the addition of peeled tomatoes.
