Xynisteri: The xynisteri grape (sometimes written xynistery or xinisteri, in Greek ξυνιστέρι) is a white grape variety indigenous to Cyprus. It represents approximately 13% 1 to 16% of the area of vines planted on the island, the second most common grape variety, far behind Mavro but at a level comparable to Carignan. The southern slopes of the Troodos massif are the region with the highest density of vines.
