Quetsch: In Alsace, the Basel region, Haute-Saône, Lorraine and Luxembourg, we call quetsch (without e) the schnapps (brandy) obtained by distillation of fermented plums.
This drink can be enjoyed either cold, or even frozen, or at the temperature of the coffee cup.
In other French-speaking regions, this brandy is sometimes referred to quite simply by speaking of "plum".
