Gouget: This red grape variety, vigorous and productive, but practically extinct, is still cultivated in the region of Montluçon in the Allier. The grape is quite voluminous with tight black grains giving a fruity and colored wine which can be vinified in rosé. It is a late variety which has difficulty ripening in cold years and fears rotting in wet years....
