Boulbène: nm Soil from the Toulouse region, made up of sand, reddish clay loams and pebbles. These are silico-clayey-limestone soils not very conducive to the cultivation of vines. They are made up of a more or less thin layer of silt surmounting clayey-stony or clayey levels with little permeability. Four elements make up the soil, although the proportion varies from one hill to another or from one region to another: clay 40%, silica 34%, carbonate 24%, humus 2%.
