Rushes: The rushes (or juncaceae or Juncaceae) family includes monocotyledonous plants. It includes about 400 species divided into 6-9 genera.
They are herbaceous plants or shrubs (rarely) from humid places, from cold to temperate areas (up to tropical mountainous areas).
In this family we find the rushes of the genus Juncus L. with generally cylindrical leaves and the luzules of the genus Luzula DC. with flat leaves.
