Lusus: A lusus (sport in English), is a part of a plant that is morphologically different from the rest of the plant. It can differ from it by the shape or the color of the leaves or the flowers, for example a red flower among the white flowers of a tree, or also by the structure of the flowers or the branches or the fruits.
The cause is a spontaneous genetic mutation (*) in a part of the plant (mosaicism **).
