Juglandaceae: The Juglandaceae (or Juglandaceae) family includes dicotyledonous plants; it includes 50 species divided into 8 to 11 genera.
They are mostly deciduous trees native to temperate to tropical areas of the northern hemisphere. They are not present, neither in Africa, nor in Australia. It is the botanical family of walnut trees (genus Juglans) and hickory trees (genus Carya) of which the pecan or pecan tree (Carya illinoinensis) is part.
