Eleagnaceae: The Eleagnaceae family (or Elegnaceae) is a family of dicotyledonous plants which includes 50 species divided into 3 genera.
They are trees or shrubs, sometimes thorny, some adapted to arid zones, steppes or temperate to tropical coasts. Some species produce edible fruits. This is the case of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides).
