Magnani (Luigi): Luigi Magnani is a Bolognese pasta maker (1910-1982). Based in Quebec, he opened in Montreal in 1950, at a time when only pizza and spaghetti were known there, the Torre di Piso shop, where he introduced true Italian cuisine.
His restaurant was soon known as Chez Magnani, and its owner began to import wines from his country, which soon rivaled French wines....
