Vegetable fats: nfpl. Vegetable fats are traditional fatty substances in many African and Eastern countries. They are used to make products commonly used in Europe, such as Végétaline, made of hydrogenated coconut oil. Vegetable fats are mostly extracted from saw palmetto, copra and shea.
They often come in the form of white, waxy rectangular loaves. Their melting point is lower than that of animal fats.
