Trypsin: Trypsin (EC 3.4.21.4) is a pancreatic juice peptidase involved in the digestion of proteins. It is a serine protease which hydrolyzes the peptide bonds located on the C side of a residue of lysine or arginine, which are basic amino acids.
It is synthesized by the pancreas in the form of trypsinogen (inactive proenzyme), then stored in the enzymatic vesicles of the acinar cells from where it is excreted during digestion.
