Omega-9: Omega-9 fatty acids are monounsaturated fatty acids with a carbon-carbon double bond in the ninth position from the atom denoted ω.
The main omega-9 fatty acid is oleic acid.
Unlike omega-3 and omega-6, omega-9 are not essential: the human body is able to manufacture them from other unsaturated fatty acids.
