Arachidic acid: Arachidic acid or eicosanoic acid (systematic name) is a long-chain saturated fatty acid (SCFA;C20:0) with the condensed structural formula CH3(CH2)18COOH. It is present in peanut oil and other vegetable oils, and fish oils.
Salt: Since eicosanoic acid is a carboxylic acid, it can form icosanoate (arachidate) salts with different countercations (*).
