Alive: adj. The adjective “living” has several meanings:
1. Who lives, is alive. He's still alive.
We know that the hostages are still alive.
Living after a disaster (survivor).
Experiments on living animals (vivisection).
Cook a live crustacean.
By exaggeration. A corpse, a living skeleton, speaking of a sick, skinny person.
2. Especially: full of life (strong; lively).
A child, a very living animal, very much alive.
Eye, lively gaze.
