The word “stupidity” has several meanings:
1. Nature or character of a stupid person (stupidity, cretinism, idiocy).
– Quote from the French writer and poet Victor Hugo (1802-1885): “The ferocity of the duke […] is explained by his stupidity. He was a beast.”
Things: absurdity, ineptitude.
– Quote from the French writer Paul Valéry (1871-1945): “The stupidity of opinion imposes a model on people”.
