The verb “personify” has several meanings:
1. To evoke, to represent (an abstract or inanimate thing) under the guise of a person.
– Quote from the French writer Émile Henriot (1889-1961): “In its need to personify its fears, the popular imagination was able to create the initial and all-powerful monster to which it erected temples.”
Cartoons personify objects (anthropomorphism).
