Muscat Ottonel: Contrary to a widespread idea, Muscat Ottonel, a white grape variety, is not native to Central Europe, even if it is widely used in Romania and Austria, as well as in Hungary and Bulgaria. Indeed, Muscat d'Ottonel was created in France in 1839, by a nurseryman from the Loire. Earlier and more rustic than Muscat à Petits Grains, it is better suited to northern latitudes. But, very productive, it does not give such good results.
