Moraine: nf A moraine is a relief made up of the accumulation of sediments detached from a glacier or entrained and deposited by it.
It consists mainly of a mixture of clay, silt, sand, pebbles and boulders left directly by a glacier.
Most of the mountain vineyards are planted on glacial moraine land. See the vineyards of Bugey, Savoy, Switzerland or northeastern Italy ....
