Bacanora (Mexican drink): Bacanora is an alcoholic drink originating in Mexico, in particular in the state of Sonora, obtained by fermentation and distillation of parts of the agave species (Botanical name: Agave angustifolia).
The product, which is now protected as a Protected Designation of Origin, can only be produced in the state's 35 designated municipalities. It was once banned but is now considered one of the symbols of Sonora.
