Tradescantia: The tradescantia is an exotic ornamental plant (Scrophulariaceae family - Botanical name: Tradescantia), with long creeping stems.
They are colloquially called miseries, because of their tendency to colonize spaces, or ephemeral, because each flower only lives one day (but the plant still continues to flower over time).
We eat the flowers in salads.
